Seeking the participation of the Chief Secretary at a Civil Society Forum – AJK in Muzaffarabad

Date: Wed. 12/10/11
Date & time sought: 1100am – 2pm on Sat. 22nd of October 2011
FAO: Shehzad Arbab, A R Azad and Ansar Yaqoob
Copies: PM of AJK and Leader of Opposition in AJK Assembly

Dear Sir/s

Further to a previous request submitted on the 22nd of September (last), I hereby make a fresh request for the Chief Secretary of Azad Kashmir to attend a public forum to be conducted by Civil Society Forum – AJK at State expense. This would be the 35th civil society forum conducted by us since December 2009, having covered all the major cities between Mirpur in the South to Hunza in the North (of the erstwhile State of Jammu & Kashmir). SMS messages were sent to both Messrs. Azad and Yaqoob yesterday with due notice of this email.

Given that every nation (country) faces ever increasing challenges with respect to the deficiencies of governance and lacunae in aspirations of citizens (under it's responsibility), it is all the more imperative that a constructive bridge be built between the government and those that are governed, in a transparent manner where rights and responsibilities of citizen and State become self-evident.

I have received confidant platitudes from various members of the diplomatic circle in Islamabad with reference to the current incumbent in the Chief Secretary's chair. I sincerely hope he obliges in this endeavour towards civil society development in AJK.

In anticipation
Regards
